What will happen if the piston of the hot press is damaged?

The piston used by the hot press manufacturer can be used for more than 6 months if the rubber sealing ring is properly installed under the condition of good surface.

If the surface of piston is damaged, the main reason is that there are impurities such as sand in the oil. Once the surface of piston is scratched, it will expand and deepen rapidly under the intense grinding of the leaking high-pressure oil. In the process of pressurization, the acid wastewater extruded from the wet plate will corrode the piston surface; the higher the temperature, the greater the corrosive effect, especially when the piston surface is grinded. It is especially serious when there are scars on the protective layer. If the piston has eccentric wear, it is also one of the causes of surface abrasion and seal ring wear or extrusion. It is caused by the uneven thickness of wet slab and eccentric load when press is pressurized.

For oil cylinders with frequent oil leakage, the piston should be hoisted out to check the surface condition, especially the part of the sealing position at the highest pressure, and should be replaced when the damage is serious.
